Ruth Dean Chappell Murrell "slipped quietly from this life into the waiting arms of her heavenly family." She died Feb. 13, 2011, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late Wallace and Minnie Boshears Chappell. She was a former resident of Columbia, Tenn. and she was residing with her daughter in Frederick. She was preceded in death by a son, James Edward Murrell Jr. of Columbia, Tenn. in 1972; and by her husband of 44 years, James Edward Murrell Sr. of Columbia, Tenn. in 1989. She is survived by daughter Barbara Murrell Morse and husband David of Frederick; [2] grandsons...; and twin granddaughters...

She was the youngest and the last surviving of seven siblings. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Effie Lee Curtis, Mary Elizabeth Davis and Helen Elise Douglas; and four brothers, Maury Chappell, Elmer Chappell, Allie Chappell and William Chappell...

Longtime member of Riverside United Methodist Church of Columbia, Tenn.; and a longtime member of Jane Knox Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution...

Memorial service will be announced at a later date with cremation interment in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, Tenn....
