EVANS, NELL LOUISE (VAN METER), 82, of Eastwood, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2006. Louise was born February 18, 1924 to Roy Earl Van Meter, Sr. and Nellie Louise Ethington Van Meter in Pleasureville, KY, and grew up in Shelbyville, KY. She married Kenneth B. Evans on September 13, 1941. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Eastwood for over 50 years, a long-time member of Eastwood Community Center and manager of girls softball team, a life member of the Ladies' Auxiliary to Middletown VFW Post #1170, a member of Shelbyville Country Club and Ladies Golf Club, a life member of Long Run Ladies Golf Club in Jefferson County and proud to be a Kentucky Colonel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth B. Evans. Survived by her daughter, Dale Donahue and her husband, Al; grandson, Christopher C. Donahue; great- grandsons, Christopher C. Donahue Jr. and Brandon Isaacs; brother, Maurice Van Meter; and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Eastwood, 16122 Eastwood Cut-off Road, with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Pearson- Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Rd., Middletown. Memorial gifts in her memory may be made to her church.

Nell Louise (Van Meter) Evans, 82, of Eastwood, died Aug. 15, 2006.

She was born Feb. 18, 1924, to Roy Earl and Nellie Louise Ethington Van Meter Sr. in Pleasureville. She grew up in Shelbyville and married Kenneth B. Evans on Sept. 13, 1941.

She was a homemaker, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of First Baptist Church of Eastwood for more than 50 years. She was a long-time member of Eastwood Community Center and a manager of the girls' softball team, a life member of the ladies' auxiliary to the Middletown VFW Post No. 1170, a member of the Shelbyville Country Club and ladies' golf club and a life member of the Long Run Ladies' Golf Club in Jefferson County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth B. Evans.

Survivors include her daughter, Dale (Al) Donahue of La Grange; a grandson, Christopher C. Donahue; two great-grandsons, Christopher C. Donahue Jr. and Brandon Isaacs; a brother, Maurice Van Meter; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Services were Aug. 18 at First Baptist Church of Eastwood. Visitation was Aug. 17 at Pearson-Ratterman Funeral Home in Middletown.
