Retha Jane Jones, 97 years, 1 month, 18 days old, passed to Heaven on August 15, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
Retha was born June 28, 1919 in Ozark County, MO to Sneed and Winnie (Turner) Lawson.
Retha and Ray Jones were united in marriage and to this union ten children were born and raised on their family farm.
Retha was a Christian, who enjoyed reading, word search puzzles and helping raise all of her grand and great grandchildren!
Retha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray, three grandchildren, Stan Prine, Charlotte Jones and Kevin Watson, two brothers, Lowell and Otto Lawson, and three sisters, Lois LaPlant, Jesse Pilant and Myrtle Marsh.
Retha is survived by her ten children and their spouses: Eugene “Gene”& Theresa Jones, Eileen Anderson, Dean & Donna Jones, Pat & Ruben Madril, Jerry & Mary Jones, Verl & Mitzi Jones, Judy & Jerry Spurlock, Rick & Kathy Jones, Cheryl & George Lansdown, and Rhonda & Rodney Yost, 38 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Sharon Donaway and Tracy Lee from Hospice for their loving and tender care of our Mother in her final days. Also want to thank Pastor Oren Alcorn for his prayers and consoling words in our time of need.
There will be no services per Retha’s request. Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. A burial will be held at a later date and time in the Thornfield Cemetery by the family. Memorials may be made to Thornfield Cemetery.
