Michael Dewayne Ragsdale “Big Mike”, 51, of Chattanooga made his heavenly transition on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his residence.

He was born June 4, 1965 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Betty Louise Bozeman Ragsdale and the late Floyd Havis.

Michael graduated from Chattanooga High School on June 7, 1983. He was employed at Textile Printing of Chattanooga, TN.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Paul and Eula Allen Havis-Rufus and Sarah Mae Moore; aunt, Barbara Jean Bozeman, MD.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 31 years, Frances Cowings Ragsdale; a loving step-daughter, Bianca (Kendell) Toney; sons, Michael DeWayne Ragsdale, Jr. and Derrick Lebron (Lacey) Ragsdale; three grandchildren, Amya , Kennedi, Kenzley; a loving step-father, Robert Eugene Ragsdale; sister, Wendy King; brother, Robert Demetrius (Brooke) Ragsdale; aunts, Sarah (Charlie) Parks, Rose Bozeman of Little Rock, AR; Bernadine Moore; uncles, Rufus Moore, Jr., Bernard Moore and Reginald Moore; mother-in-law, Deborah Cowings, Raleigh, NC; three sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to Textile Printing Company, Dallas Bay Church, Ms. Hope at Parkridge Hospital, Erlanger Oncology Department and Hospice of Chattanooga.

A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Lakewood Memory Gardens – East.

The body will lie in state after noon Tuesday and the family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
