Nicholas, 32, formerly Columbus Grove, passed away at his home after a 3 year courageous battle with Thyroid cancer.

He was the son of Edward and Jill (Maier) Schroeder. His father and stepmother, Joni, survive in Columbus Grove, and his mother survives in Cleveland.

Also surviving are a daughter, Nicole Jordan, Tampa, FL; two brothers: Brice, Columbus, and Parker, Findlay; paternal grandfather, Othmar Schroeder, Columbus Grove; and maternal grandmother, Betty Maier, Lima.

A 2002 graduate of Bay Village High School, he was attending Cooley School of Law, Tampa, FL. He was a former U.S. Marine where he was a MP at Miramar Air Force Base, San Diego. He was a former Sheriff's deputy for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department. He was an avid OSU Buckeye and Miami Dolphin Fan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, with Rev. Tom Extejt and Pastor D. Keith Hamblen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rights by the Columbus Grove American Legion.
