Carl Lombard of Minneapolis and formerly of Spooner, died on Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Lyngblomsten Care Center in St. Paul.
Carl was born on Sept. 21, 1908, to Ben and Maria (Di Palma) Lombard.
Carl served his country with tours in Hawaii, Okinawa, Saipan, and Kwajalein Islands. He owned and operated Lombard's Club 70 with his brother, Mike, for over 15 years.
He enjoyed building furniture and spent 25 years as a finish carpenter until he retired. He was a big fan of the Minnesota Twins.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lucy and Annie; and three brothers, Mike, Tony, and Bill.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 19, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Spooner. Fr. Andrew P. Ricci will officiate. Music will be provided by organist Sr. Dominica Effertz and the St. Francis de Sales choir.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Spooner. Arrangements are being provided by Scalzo-Taylor Funeral Home, Spooner.
