Mrs. Bennett was born in Acworth, Georgia on March 18, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Robert Q. Miller and the late Luna Miller.
Mrs. Bennett worked as a secretary for Lockheed Aircraft in Marietta, Georgia, First Baptist Church of Dothan, Alabama, Main Street Baptist Church of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, First Baptist Church of Rome, Georgia, Mount Vernon Baptist Church of Atlanta, Georgia and First Baptist Church of Bremen, Georgia.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. George Bennett.
Mrs. Bennet had a passion for art and especially for painting. She was an accomplished painter. Her art work has been on exhibition in various venues and her work was sought after at various art shows and sales.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law; one son and daughter-in-law; three grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Dr. Allen Wilburn and Rev. Aaron Johnson officiating
Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery with the deacons of Buchanan First Baptist Church serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to: Buchanan First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 485, Buchanan, GA 30113.
