Victoria "Vickie" M. Davis (nee Martinez) died unexpectedly of cancer surrounded by her loved ones on June 28, 2016 in Rowlett, TX at the age of 88. She leaves behind her daughter Linda Franklin Hight; her grandchildren Toni Hight, Victoria Landin and Jared Landin of TX, and Michelle and Monique Perez of CA; her great granddaughter Jenae Whitley Gomez (husband Gonzalo); her great, great grandchildren Julian and Jiro Gomez; her brother Joe Martinez (wife Eva), her sister Lily Kennedy; and several nieces and nephews. Vickie was born on December 17, 1927 in Caddo Mills, TX to father Felipe "Philip" Martinez and mother Clemencia "Mary" Pace (nee Montoya). She grew up the eldest of six children. Vickie married her husband of 30 years, Roy Davis in 1974. She loved to travel, shop for antiques and try new restaurants. She was a strong-willed, beautiful and kind woman that all of her family and friends dearly love and greatly miss. Vickie worked for 7-11 stores for almost 40 years before she retired. She was well known at the 7-11 in Rockwall on Highway 205 and Ridge Road, where she served as manager for nearly 30 of the 40 years that she worked for the company. She rarely, if ever, missed work. In fact, as recently as last year she wanted to go back to work part time. Prior to 7-11, Vickie was a manager at the Greyhound Bus Company in Dallas and Laredo, TX for 10 years. Vickie is preceded in death by her husband Roy Davis; her son Arnulfo Rudy "Bobby" Perez; her sister Florence "Tina" Griffin, her brothers Gregory and Jerome "Jerry" Martinez; and her parents.
