Funeral services for Elmer J. Erwin, 69, widely-known Charlotte stock farmer, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Hurley Chapel with the Rev. Walter Haynie officiating. Mr. Erwin, who had lived in the Charlotte community for 47 years, died Saturday in a local hospital. Interment was in the city cemetery at Charlotte. Born on April 11, 1894, Mr. Erwin is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dollie Easter Brown Erwin, whom he married on Nov 19, 1919, three sons, Elmer J. Erwin, Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo., Roy F. Erwin, Dallas, and Larry Erwin, Charlotte; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hallum, Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Hosa Erwin, Charlotte; and a sister, Charleston, West Va.
