Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" Noe
Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Goldston Noe, 69, of Harriman, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2016 at her home with her family by her side.
Betty was born January 31, 1947. She graduated from Harriman High School, and then went on to graduate from Tennessee Technological University with a degree in business. Betty spent most of her life working at the family business, Goldston’s Grocery in south Harriman. In her spare time she trained and showed Brittany spanials and was very good in doing so. She won many trophies and medals. She was the first female to be featured in Field and Stream magazine. She also worked at Harriman Utility Board, where she retired in 2012.
Betty was preceeded in death by her parents, Lewis and Virginia Hamlett Goldston; brother, Eddie Goldston; sister, Linda Goldston; and mother-in-law Eula Mae Noe.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey Noe of Harriman; her sister, Jane Rummel and husband Jim of Harriman; nieces, Jennifer Henbree and husband James, of Harriman, and Allison Shell and husband Darryl of Knoxville; and by great nephews, Syyrus and Xavier Shell of Knoxville; and cousins that loved her dearly.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to Dr. Timothy Bell; her caretakers, Carmelia Jeffers, and Charlotte Keenan; and Hospice of Sweetwater.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday August 17, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kyker Funeral Home in Harriman, with the funeral following at 7:00 p.m. Burial and graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Willard Park Cemetery in Harriman.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Rockwood Animal Shelter, 296 Manufacturer’s Road, Rockwood, TN. 37854.
