He lived most of his life in Columbus, graduating from S.D. Lee High School in 1966. He attended EMCC, Mississippi State University, and served in the Air National Guard. He worked for many years building and maintaining lock and dams along the Tenn Tom Waterway and retired from R & D Maintenance in 2013.
Butch was known for his strong work ethic, his love of family and friends, his quick wit, and great sense of humor. He is remembered in his youth for his love of horses, fast cars, and motorcycles. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer in his prime. He loved to watch Mississippi State athletics and spending time with his granddaughters. He was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Mann, son, Brian Mann, daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Brandon Dozier, and twin granddaughters, Madison and Mackenzie Dozier, sisters and brother-in-laws, Earlene and Troy Mohon of Mountain Brook, AL, Nancy and Tommy Johnson of Columbus, MS, and Patsy and Jerry Weeks of Ocoee, Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Tom Johnson, Lewis Johnson, Selby Weeks, Gary Eads, Brad Davis, and Blaine Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Dozier, Tommy Johnson, Danny Harbin, Bubba Miles, Dennis Brasfield, Mike Robertson, Greasy Griffin, Shorty Glenn, Dr. Donny Stokes, Dr. Jerry Stennett, Dr. Jack Whitecar and staff, employees of R&D Maintenance, and the US Army Corp of Engineers.
