Gwendolyn "Sue" Hall, 78, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at her residence surrounded by family and friends. Sue, as she was known, was born on May 17, 1938, in Palmer, Tenn., to Clyde Sissom and Lorene Tate Sissom.
She married Albert Hall on Aug. 13, 1955, and they remained married until his death in 1988. Her and Albert were the owners of several area restaurants including Chow Now, Country House and more recently Home Folks in Soddy-Daisy. She was known and loved by many customers and employees that she came in contact with over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Albert H. Hall.
Survivors are children, Rickey Hall (Sandy), Soddy-Daisy, Tami Hall Ford (James), Hixson; grandchildren, Dustin Hall (Ashley), Caleb Hall (Corey) and Drew Bryson (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Cadence Bryson and Braxton Hall; brothers, Carl Wayne Sissom, Richard Sissom and Roger Sissom; sisters, Judy Sissom, Billie Lynn Hatfield, Della Sissom and Debbie Patton; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her caregivers, Sandra Heyen for her five years of service to her; Jennifer Anderson and Debbie Green and special friends, Rachel Smith and Connie Dowden; our Home Folks employees and several others that were helpful to our mother. Services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ronnie Smith and Rev. Jimmy Holtzclaw officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
