"Willie Gene Stinson, 83, of Bowling Green passed away surrounded by his family Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 9:54 pm at The Medical Center of Bowling Green. Willie was born October 26, 1932, in Allen Co., KY.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Birdie McCoin Stinson, parents, Dessie and Flossie Carter Stinson, and sister, Betty Sue Stinson.
Willie retired from Holley Carburetor in 1997 after 40 years. He was a member of Rough Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Allen Co., KY.

Willie adored his three grandchildren, loved his wife of nearly 59 years, daughters and son. Willie enjoyed attending the yearly Martin Festival in TN and checking out the bargains along the US 127-Yard Sale. He was an avid gardener, and a die-hard UK basketball fan. He also spent 18 years umpiring for the Warren County PeeWee League. He served in the US Army for two years during the Korean War. Willie and his wife Birdie enjoyed travel and visited all 50 states.

Survivors include one son, William Todd Stinson, Pacifica CA, two daughters Teresa Allen (Mark), Gilbert AZ, and Lisa Pennington (Ricky), Bowling Green, brother-in-law Joe Tom Stinson, Scottsville. Three grandchildren Michelle Pennington Brown (Chris), London KY, Thomas Pennington (Brianna Stephens), Bowling Green, and Sara Pennington, Bowling Green. Also survived by a special great-great nephew, Parker Yingling, Bowling Green. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 8 pm Tuesday and from 9 am until 11 am Wednesday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. The funeral service will be 11:00 am in the J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel with burial to follow in Bowling Green Gardens."
