Marvin Spencer Jr. 49, a resident of Bastrop, LA, formally of Lacey, AR departed this life on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical of Lafayette, LA. Marvin Spencer, Jr. was born on March 10, 1967, to Marvin Spencer, Sr. and the late Nellie Spencer in Monticello, AR. Marvin made a choice to serve spiritually at a young age at the Holy Divine M.B.C in Lacey, AR. Though he strayed he dedicated his life to the Church of Christ then to Zion Hill M.B.C in Monticello, AR.


Marvin attended Fountain Hill High School. He worked various jobs helping many people along the way from mechanic to carpentry. He worked for L.D. Logging Co. in 1992, where he was a machine operator. He continued his carpentry career in Bastrop, LA. He was the most outgoing person you could ever meet. He was full of laughter and he loved everyone especially his family. Everyone knew him as “Con Peter”. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Spencer and his son Christopher Greene Spencer

He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: His girlfriend, LaTosha Duffie; His loving children: Shonda Spencer, Latisha Love, Marvin Spencer III, Marcus Thompson, Julian Polk, Lakita Spencer, Candice Spencer, Mashya Jordan, Maliah Spencer, Makiya Spencer, Meritza Spencer, and Peyton Spencer; His Father: Marvin Spencer Sr. (Marie) His sisters: Vanessa Powell of Dermott, AR, Jacqueline Spencer of Los Angeles, CA, Jacqueline Junior of Monticello, AR, Eugenia Spencer of Monticello and Karen Shepherd of Mariette, GA. His Brothers: Kelvin Spencer of Pottsville, AR, Demetric Spencer of Dumas, AR, and Christopher Spencer of Monticello, AR. One brother in law: Randal Powell. Three sisters in laws: Sabrina Spencer, Jackie Spencer and Patrice Spencer. A host of loved ones who loved him dearly.

Funeral service will be Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 2:00 P.M at the Bethel A.M.E. Church in Fountain Hill, AR. Visitation will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery in Lacey, AR under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Service of Crossett, Arkansas.
