CURTIS ENGENE McDANIEL, 77, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, November 24, 2006 at Saint Francis Hospital. He was born July 30, 1929 in Clarksdale, MS, the son of Oliver and Christine McDaniel. He received a B.S. in Engineering from Mississippi State University and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning from Korea, he settled in Memphis and was employed by Kimberly Clark Corp. for 35 years. Curtis gave his life to the Lord as a child. He was a faithful servant, to God and the Gideon organization and life time deacon with membership at Crestview Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, from 5-8 p.m. at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue and also from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday, November 28 at Crestview Baptist Church on Winchester at Clarke, with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Wilda H. McDaniel, and four children, Curtis R. McDaniel of Olive Branch, MS, Nada J. Schafer of Springfield, MO, Bennie W. McDaniel of Garland, TX and Amanda L. Haskett of Collierville, TN. He leaves eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Schafer, Scarlett McDaniel, Celina McDaniel, Jill Schafer, Christopher McDaniel, Ryan Haskett, Allison Haskett, and Erica Haskett.
