Leland McMurray, 90, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.


Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.


Leland was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Scott County, Va., to Noah and Della McMurray. He served his country in the Army, serving in World War II. After his service, Leland went into the used car business and worked six days a week for the rest of his life. On June 10, 1952, he married the love of his life, Bertha Gann. They have been married for 60 wonderful years. Leland was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be truly missed.


He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Michael Phillips, in 1997.


Survivors include his wife; three daughters; two sons; two sisters; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.


The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
