LAKEVILLE - Vicki L. Young, 80, of Lakeville, IN, passed away at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, August 7, 2016, at her home. She was born on May 28, 1936, in Lansing, MI, to the late Victor and Lucile (Knab) Baldwin. On June 22, 1956, at Willow Creek Methodist Church, Mishawaka, IN, she was united in marriage to William M. H. Young.
Mrs. Young is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Mark) Klein of Osceola, IN; son, Jeffrey Young of South Bend, IN; three grandchildren, Amanda Young of Austin, TX, Jonathon (Sarah) Klein of Memphis, TN, and Christopher (Christina) Klein of Bloomington, IN; and sister, Jackolin Radtke of Brunswick, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Young, sister, Patricia Betz, and brother, James Baldwin.
Mrs. Young moved to South Bend in 1955, coming from Wisconsin. She retired in 1998 as a wood worker at Lovin Wood “Exhibitech.” She attended Bethany Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Purple Ladies Club and sang in the church choir. Mrs. Young volunteered for many years at Oliver School.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1021 Manchester Drive, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 -11:30 a.m. Thursday prior to the services at church. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, is assisting the family.
