According to the grave stone inscription regarding her, she was a daughter of Daniel Anderson of Petersburg, Virginia. It is believed that she was a daughter by his first marriage since the name of his second wife, Mary Read Cameron Anderson, is not mentioned.

Mary Read Cameron married Daniel Anderson in 1797. She apparently was the second wife of Daniel Anderson, given that he was twenty-six years older than she when they married in 1797. One source calls her his second wife. See page 93 of “The Reads and their Relatives : Being an Account of Colonel Clement and Madam Read of Bushy Forest, Lunenburg County, Virginia, their Eight Children, their Descendants, and Allied Families” by Alice Read (Mrs. Shelley Rouse) (1930).

If Elizabeth had been a child of Daniel Anderson and his second wife, Mary Read Cameron Anderson, that fact would surely have been mentioned on the grave stone since this cemetery is the final resting place of the Reverend John Cameron, D.D., the father of Mary Read Cameron Anderson.
