Thomas Henry "Tommy" CRUM was the fifth of nine children and second son of Jacob Solomon CRUM and Martha Adeline BURCH.

Charlie's father was a farmer in Monroe County Indiana and Tommy became a farmer as well.

He had dark hair and blue eyes and a stout build.

He was married in on Christmas Day 1910 to Paulina Alice East. He and Alice were both 21 years old.

The couple had ten children over a period of twenty years:

Gladys Marie Crum 1915–2009
Helmer Thomas Crum 1917–1995
Warren Edward Crum 1919–1999

He owned his own farm, but in mid-life also worked as a laborer at the stone quarry.

Tommy suffered from arteriosclerosis and hypertension in the last decade of his life. He died of a stroke at the age of fifty-eight.
