Eugene Chafin Hoffman of Long Beach, California passed away on October 3, 2015. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Memorial Park.

Gene Hoffman was born in Long Beach on February 27, 1922 to James C. and Desdemona Hoffman. He attended Fremont Elementary, Jefferson Junior High, Wilson High School and Long Beach City College.

Gene joined the war effort as an employee at Douglas Aircraft. He then joined the Army and was sent to Italy. After the war he and his brother Jim joined their father in the real estate business. Gene and Jim later entered the Korean Conflict spending time in both Korea and Japan.

In 1959, Gene married Bobbie Faulkner of Clover, South Carolina. A year later, they had a son, Jeff. Bobbie passed away in 2006 after 47 years of marriage.
Gene was preceded in death by his sister Eleanor Joplin and his brother Jim. He is survived by his sister Helen Kelley of Fruita, Colorado, his son Jeff and many nieces and nephews.
