Funeral services for Robert Vogler, 83, of Rosenberg, Texas, will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2006, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1208 Fifth Street in Rosenberg with the Rev. David Klak officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be Sunday, November 26th from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel in Rosenberg. His nephews will serve as pall bearers with the Men in Mission from St. Paul serving as honorary pall bearers.
Robert went to be with the Lord November 23, 2006, at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born June 27, 1923 to Herman and Hedwig Brauner-Vogler in Welcome, Texas. Robert married Evelyn Rosenbaum May 31, 1947. They had two daughters, Yvonne Reese and Kathy Besch.

Robert served with the 86th Blackhawk Division in Europe and in the Pacific from 1943-1946. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 271, VFW Post 3903, and Men in Mission. He loved the outdoors, dancing, dominos, camping, hunting and fishing. Robert retired from the Texas Highway Department and the City of Rosenberg.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Herbert, Norbert, Gilbert and Curbie Vogler; sisters: Lillie Stehle, Paula Rosenbaum, and Annie Mae Vogler.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Vogler; daughters, Yvonne Reese, Kathy Besch and husband, Donnie Besch; grandchildren Amanda Reese, Russell Reese, Taylor Besch; great grandchild, Ethan Stanley. He also is survived by sister, Pearlie Giese and husband, Edwin; brothers: Norris Vogler and wife, Maxine; Elgin Vogler and wife, Eleanor; sisters-in-law: Lillie Belle Vogler, Vivian Sabrsula, Effie Mae Vogler and numerous nieces and nephews.

A heartfelt thanks to all of his caregivers, especially Odyssey Health Care, Dr. Vaughns and Donna Ferguson, the staff of Oak Bend Hospital, Dr. Popatia and Dr. Satterfield.
