The John Cole born in Swansea, Mass., 3 Nov. 1695, was the son of John3 (Hugh2, James1) and Susannah (____) Cole; his date of death is unknown and his place of burial is uncertain. There is no record of a John Cole's having died in Rehoboth or anywhere else in New England on or near 16 March 1758. This John's wife, Abigail (Butts) Cole, died on 26 Sept. 1757 and is buried in Kickemuit Cemetery, in the part of Swansea that in 1747 became Warren, R.I.; his father and stepmother, John and Sarah (Cornell) (Butts) Cole, both died in 1748 and are also buried there. Although there's no gravestone for John Jr., it's not unreasonable to suppose—though it's not certain—that he's buried there, too.
