Elmira Frances Gorton widow of Solon Stoddard died at her home in Youngsville Thursday December 3. She was 77 of hardening of the arteries and a stroke. Born August 28 1848 on the Hardeburgh Farm near Youngsville, daughter of Collins Gorton and Rebecca Palmatier. On Sept 28 1870 she married Solon Stoddard who did April 11 1919. 3 children born to them - 2 survive - Mrs Adella Roth of White Sulphur Springs and Mrs Geneva C Inderlied of Youngsville. A son Bert L died in Youngsville in 1917. Also leaves a brother, James of Newburg; 2 sisters - Mrs Main Stoddard of Youngsville and Mrs Charles Benedict of Ridgeway, PA.
