William Rayburn "Bill" Ainsworth passed away at home surrounded by his friends and family at the age of 77.

Bill was preceded in death by his father Marvin Rayborn Ainsworth and by his mother Evelyn Elizabeth Ainsworth.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, his daughter and his son,five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Bill proudly served in the US Marine Corps and worked in the retail grocery business for most of his life. He began his career as the store manager for Weingarten's in the Oil Center and ended his career as a co-owner of several Piggly Wiggly stores located in Lafayette, LA.

He will be remembered for his devotion to the family, to his church Community Baptist, and to helping his friends and neighbors in any way possible. He had a passion for fishing and hunting, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and in particular by those who came to know, trust, and love him most deeply.

Memorial services at the Community Baptist Church in Lafayette, LA, August 14, 2016, followed by a procession and interment at Fountain Memorial.
