Cpl. Michael C. Ledsome, 24, of Austin, Texas, was a family tradition for the Ledsome family. Michael joined with his brother. Together they were following in the footsteps of their father. He joined the Marines shortly after marrying in Austin. The couple has a two-year-old son. He graduated from Brownwood High School in 2000 and later moved to Austin, where he ran a pro shop at a golf course. He was an athletic teenager who loved to golf during his childhood in Brownwood, He was recently out of the hospital, injured back in August when a road side bomb exploded near his convoy. When he was sent care packages, he said it was just like Christmas. He was 24.
