Essie Lee Jackson, 93, of Blountstown, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014 in DeFuniak Springs. She was born in Fountain July 17, 1920 to the late William Wesley and Minnie Lee Damphier Odom. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Wesley and Minnie Lee Damphier Odom; her husband; one son, William Jackson.

Survivors include six sons, Thomas Jackson, Higden Jackson, Jesse Jackson, Samuel Jackson, Lawrence, Jackson and Albert Jackson; eight daughters, Shirley Holbrooks, Elizabeth Ford, Doris Adkins, Brenda Morris, Erma Morris, Patricia Hanna, Debbie Lowe, Linda Powell; four brothers; five sisters; many grandchildren; and several great and several great-great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 5-7 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Jackson, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altha.
