From Find A Grave contributor J.L. Wallace:

This obituary of Susannah Williams Savage was in my old family Bible. It is handwritten by her granddaughter, Louisa Savage (Pitman), my great-great-grandmother.

Susannah Williams Savage died on Sunday last at Bailey Junction in Grayson County, Texas, in her 95th year of her life. She was the esteemed mother of our townsman, Capt. Samuel Bolling Savage, who was her youngest son. Mrs. Savage was a native of South Carolina, and moved to Texas over thirty years ago from Missouri. She died in the faith of the Primitive Baptist Church of which she was an exemplary member. Her remains were buried at Pilot Grove on Monday. In the death of Mrs. Savage, one of the oldest residents of this country has passed away, one of the few who came here in an early day and lived to see the great development of this country.
