Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Charlie Cox officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Mr. Hudson was born Feb. 3, 1944, in Stroud, Okla., and lived there for most of his early life. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy and received an honorable discharge. Francis married the love of his life, Irene Chitwood, on Aug. 26, 1962, in Blackwell, Okla. Together they shared 44 years, not only as companions, but also as best friends. They moved to Amarillo in August 1973 and have resided here ever since. Francis was a handyman and liked to stay busy. He enjoyed things such as operating heavy machinery and driving big work trucks. He was an avid car enthusiast and also enjoyed watching professional football. Francis had a caring heart; although at times he kept it hidden. He touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ernie Lee Hudson; his mother, Violet Hudson; and a sister, Tresella Barber.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rick Hudson and wife Erica of Los Alamos, N.M., and Randy Hudson of Amarillo; a daughter, Laura Hatten and husband Raymond of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Mark, Alan, Eric, Ryan and Violet; a great-grandson, Dylan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
