FREDERICKTOWN -- Phyllis Jean Rogers Berry was born December 30, 1936, to the late Blanche and the late Glenn Rogers. Phyllis married Clyde Berry on August 14, 1954. She was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Durbin, her parents and her brother Jimmy Rogers. Also, by one daughter-in-law and one grandchild.

Clyde and Phyllis spent their lives in ministry and had three boys who followed in their legacy. Alan (Marilyn) Berry of Farmington, Steven (late Leeta) Berry of Ste. Genevieve and Glenn Douglas Berry of Desloge.

Phyllis was a member of the Rogers Quartet and played for her husband and her son's group, The Berry Brothers. She and her husband received the Magma Lifetime Achievement award for dedication to gospel music in 2010. No one could play quite like her. She was a church pianist for over 70 years. She was also an assistant in a chiropractic office for years and was a talented story and song writer.

She had 10 grandchildren she loved dearly. She loved to take care of them and spend time with them. She has probably written a poem for each one of them because each was so special to her, Mark, Melissa, Amy, Ashley, Summer, Garrett, the late Lexi, Abbi, Alayna, and Boone. She was the wonderful great-grandmother of Isiah, Eli, Zoe, Josie, Rawlin, Anderson, Chamberlin and Myla Jo.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2016, at Follis & Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Follis & Sons Chapel with Dr. Ryan Tischer and the Berry Family officiating. Interment at Mine La Motte Cemetery. Condolences can be made to the Magma (Mid-America Gospel Music Association). PO Box 427 Farmington, MO 63640.
