From 1980 to 1990, he taught in the Management Department at San Antonio College. Moving to Fredericksburg, Texas in 1993, he enjoyed the quiet life of the Hill Country with frequent trips to England and Scotland tracing family history.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn, daughters Carolyn Hogue Stegall (husband Roland) of Glen Rose, TX, Harriet Hogue Stevenson, MD (husband Tim) of Burke, VA. His six grandchildren Kathryn Gollahon (husband Marcus), Mary, Ashleigh, Sam Stegall and Daniel and Ben Stevenson were a great source of pride to Harvey. He was also the great grandfather to Luke and Claire Gollahon. He is also survived by his neice and nephew, Ann and Bill Coset of Santa Rosa, CA.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Grace Harvie Hogue, his sister Marion Hogue Coset and brother-in-law, Albert Coset. A son, Howard H. Hogue, died at birth in 1958.
A memorial service for Colonel Hogue will be held at the
Fredericksburg Funeral Home, 2278 HWY 87 on August 13th at 1 p.m.. Inurnment will be at the Naval Academy on a future date.
