James Ford Harvey, “Sport”, 79, a native of Jackson, LA, and a resident of Clinton, LA, died on Thursday, August 11, 2016.

Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Clinton, LA on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 4pm until 7pm; and then on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Jackson United Methodist Church from 9:30am until funeral services at 10:30am, conducted by Rev. Chris Curry. Burial will be in Jackson Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Emily Harvey Grimsley and her husband Corey Grimsley of St. Francisville; brother Melba Leroy Harvey Jr. and his wife Fran Harvey of Baton Rouge, LA; and four grandchildren: Eliana Frances Grimsley, Averitt Harvey Grimsley, Abigail Ford Grimsley, and Evans James Grimsley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Frances Butler Harvey; two sisters, Frances Jane Harvey and Rosemary Harvey Jackson; and his parents, Melba Leroy Harvey Sr. and Agnes Eloise Ford Harvey.

Pallbearers will be Jim Jackson, John Jackson, Tommy Stafford, Jody Vidrine, Scott Harrington, and Randy Rogillio.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Creed, Dewey DeLee, Billy Horne, Ronnie McMorris, John Kamisky, Tom Jackson, Leroy Harvey, Scotty Dawson, William B. Netterville, Ray Netterville, Carroll Netterville, and Byron Rogillio.

He was a member of the Jackson United Methodist Church; the Jackson Lions Club; Louisiana Farm Bureau; the Feliciana Forestry Association; the Louisiana Forestry Association; a graduate of McKowen High School, Class of 1954; and a graduate of Louisiana State University.
