Mark James Watkins, 55, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at his home.
He was born on March 20, 1961 to the late Jacob Irving and Jane Marie (Roche) Watkins in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong area resident. Along with his parents; he was also preceded in death by his son, Calvin Watkins; and his granddaughter, Katrina Singh.
Mark graduated in 1979 from New Prairie High School in New Carlisle, IN. He then received an Associate Degree from Ivy Tech College in South Bend, IN.
Mark was currently employed by Heat & Frost Insulators Local #75, where he worked as a Heat & Frost Insulator for several years.
On August 21, 2010, he married Theresa Lynn Barnes in New Carlisle, IN.
Mark is survived by his wife, Theresa Lynn Watkins of New Carlisle, IN; a daughter, Joanna Singh of Bristol, IN; two grandchildren, Sonia and ZiNam; and four sisters, Margaret R. (Doug) Paul of South Bend, IN; Marsha A. (Mick) Magura of Valparaiso, IN; Karin M. (Ray) Barnes of Granger, IN; and Laura (Tom) Wozniak of South Bend, IN.
Mark was a S.A.L. member of the American Legion Post #297 for many years in New Carlisle, IN. He loved nature, especially hunting and fishing. Mark also greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
A Celebration of his life will take place for close friends and family from 4-6 p.m. EST Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the American Legion Post #297 in New Carlisle, IN.
