My Uncle never married. His father, Stewart, died before he was born. He and my Grandmother lived in Tillsonburg where he worked for the Town. He cared for her until her death in 1957. I never saw him drive but he would ride his bike for miles and take beautiful photographs of the countryside. He loved working in his yard, where he grew numerous fruit trees and had a garden. Every year he would put up what he grew. The front of his house was always bright with the colour of flowers. He carved amazing Totem Poles. He always wanted a Civil War style cannon and since they weren't easily found, he decided to build one. And build one he did and it set in his front yard for many years. He said he needed a Confederate flag so since we lived in North Carolina, we sent him one. A photo of him and his cannon made the Tillsonburg paper. He lived next door to his brother, Tom and his wife, Agnes. Tom, also, worked for the Town. I guess, the other big memory I had were their pets. Granny always had one or two Pekinese but later, Stewart had a Basset Hound. It's funny the things you remember
