He was born in Natick, Mass., and moved to Vero Beach in 1989, coming from Crofton, Md. He owned a Dodge Dealership in Islip, N.Y., for 30 years prior to retirement. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and served in the Coast Guard during World War II.
Survivors include his daughters, Constance M. Sims of Washington, D.C., and Patricia A. Gilsbach of Pennsylvania; sister, Sister Margaret Katherine Sims of Framingham, Mass.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Sims; brothers, Ralph Sims Jr., Francis Sims, Donald Sims and Norman Sims; and a sister, Margaret Dacy. SERVICES: A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., July 2 at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Natick. Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
