Former Fairfield resident Fay Mildred (Athey) Laubon Roe, 89, of Orem, Utah, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997, at East Lake Care Center in Provo, Utah.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Berg Mortuary in Orem. Burial will be in Orem City Cemetery.

Mrs. Roe was born Jan. 30, 1907, to John and Edna (Thompson) Athey in Fairfield. She grew up in Spring Ranch. She attended school in Fairfield. In 1923 she married Louis John Laubon in Hastings. She worked at Swift & Co. in Hastings. She later worked at the State Hospital west of Hastings. In 1948 she married Richie Roe and moved to Provo. She became a licensed practical nurse. She worked at the Utah State Hospital in Provo where she was supervisor of the geriatrics ward. She received Utah State's outstanding LPN award two consecutive years. She was preceded in death by both husbands.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a Relief Society visiting teacher.

Survivors are two sons, Ronald Laubon of Oscoda, Mich., and Jerry Laubon of Orem; three daughters, Donna Grothen and Jean Beiriger, both of Hastings, and Glenda Ferguson of Orem; one sister, Laura Costa of Ione, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Louis Jr.; one brother and one sister.
