Moritz Julius Dobschutz, 82 years old, a retired real estate man of this city, passed away at 5 o'clock Tuesday morning at his home at Church and First Streets.

Deceased lived in retirement for the past seventeen years, and was one of the best known citizens of Belleville.

The deceased was born in Germany, March 20, 1831, and came to this country when still quite young. He was twice married, first on August 9, 1857, to Miss Nicy Ann Moore in Omaha, Neb., she dying on June 1, 1869. He was wedded a second time on July 15, 1869, to Miss Louisa Zimlich.

He leaves his widow and these children: John, St. Louis; Mrs. Charles Schott, Belleville; Mrs. Frank Kreitner, Mound City, Ill.; Moritz, Jr., Misses Hermina, Lillian, Lulu and Walter, Belleville; Edward, in Pasadena, Cal., and Jehu, in St. Louis. He also leaves fourteen grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon to Walnut Hill Cemetery.
