Cynthia “Cindy” Faye Olson, age 63, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, in Springfield, Oregon, at Riverbend Hospital surrounded by her family, after a long fight with kidney and heart failure.
Cindy was born on November 30, 1952, in Sandusky, Ohio, to Patricia and Archie Hammett (both deceased). She was raised by her grandparents Katherine and Larry Tennison who have preceded her in death. She is survived by her Aunt Berta and Uncles Glen and Larry who were more like siblings. She is preceded in death by her Uncle Phillip. She is survived by numerous cousins.
She met the love of her life out of high school and she married Richard Orville Olson on May 2, 1970, in Rapid City, SD. Together they had five children until his untimely death on July 1, 1983.
She is survived by four of her children, Nathan of Eugene, OR, Allen of Medford, OR, Rachel and son-in law Jesse Nielsen of Roseburg, OR, and Megan and soon to be son-in-law Jerry of Portland, OR. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph. She has six grandchildren ages from 4 to 18 years old, with another grandchild on the way, and one great-grandchild.
Cindy loved to spend time with her family and friends. She loved animals, shopping, reading, flowers and socializing (preferably over coffee).
She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and her brothers and sisters of her congregation, who she loved so much.
Memorial services are going to be at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Roseburg, Oregon, on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at 2 p.m.
Her family is holding a Celebration of Life for her on September Saturday 17, 2016, at 4 p.m. at the Nielsen residence in Roseburg, OR.
