Shirley enjoyed caring for her numerous nieces and nephews through the years. She lived and cared for her Mother until her death. She continued tending house and caring for her stepfather, John, until he remarried. Shirley returned to retail work until her health forced her to retire.
Shirley was a loving, giving person all of her life until a stroke incapacitated her in December 1999. She entered Sunrise View Convalescent Center in Everett, in January of 2000, and resided there until her death. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease soon after and her death was a result of this insidious disease. Until Shirley became ill, she was ever available to her family and friends for any help she could offer and was most appreciated and loved by all.
Shirley Ann is survived by her sisters, Mary Freeman, of Stanwood, Washington, and Joan Burnett, of Pendleton; brothers, Clifford Hall and Wayne Hall, of Portland, Oregon, David Hall of Pendleton, Jerry Hall of Richland, Washington, Donald Hall of Hermiston, Oregon, and Robert Sloan, of Renton, Washington; by her stepmother, Lillian Sloan, of Seattle; and many nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Dallas, Phillip, and Paul.
Shirley Ann's family would like to express our sincere appreciation for the ever loving care she received from all of the staff at Sunrise View and to the Hospice and Home Care staff of Snohomish, Washington, who were indispensable to Shirley and her family throughout this difficult time.
The family requests memorials be made to Parkinson's and Hospice care of Snohomish or the charity of their choice.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Greenwood Funeral Home, 350 Monroe Avenue N.E. Renton. Viewing will be held form 2 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 14, and Saturday morning prior to service. Interment to follow at Greenwood Memorial Park.
