James Harley Hunter, 77, of Hernshaw went home to be with the Lord on April 26, 2010, at home. He was a retired lieutenant with the Charleston Fire Department after 22 years of service. He was also retired from Sears Automotive Department and was a former employee of Valley Bell Dairy. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and was a Christian attending Len's Creek Wesleyan Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Hunter; parents, William and Goldie Foster Hunter; brothers, Elijah, Roscoe and John Buffington and Ray and Russell Hunter; and sister, Sally Hughes. Surviving: wife of 52 years, Phyllis Mitchell Hunter of Hernshaw; daughter, Debbie (Mike) Rosenbaum of Hernshaw; son, Danny (Lisa) Hunter of Hernshaw; brothers, Wallace Hunter of Charleston and Paul Hunter of Seth; sister, Hazel Buffington of Nellis; grandchildren, Tech Sgt. Eric (Hope) Snead in the Air Force, Chad Snead, and Emily and Katie Hunter; great-grandsons, Cameron Shenault and Drew Snead.
