Bertha Bailey, 97, of Coleman, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016 at Isabella County Medical Care Facility. She was born Jan. 19, 1919 in Goshen, Ind. Bertha Defrees married Garfield F. Bailey Nov. 10, 1939 in Harrison. He died in 1967.
Bertha enjoyed playing cards, dominos and assembling puzzles with her friends at the Coleman Senior Center. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed playing games with them.
Survivors include her daughter, Liveta "Jean" and James Rogers of Coleman; grandchildren, Tony and Rona Rogers, Cyndi and John Lewis, Sandy and Jim Horton, Steve and Jami Rogers, Barb Rogers, Ron and Cathy Bailey II; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Bertha was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Bailey; great-granddaughter, Kayla Jean Aultman; brother, George Defrees; sisters, Clara Haines, Amanda Long, May Dunham and Malinda Feast.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016 at the O'Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Elder Virginia Wickwire officiating. Burial will take place in the Hayes Township Cemetery, Harrison. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials are suggested to Pere Marquette Senior Center Activities or Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
