Francis Emerald Nelson was born March 9, 1923 in Ericsburg, MN to John A. and Anna J. (Anderson) Nelson. Francis was the youngest of 6 children and the last survivor. Francis was a WWII Vet he served 2 individual tours in the USAF from Aug. 1942 - Dec. 1945 and May 1950 - Dec. 1952.18 days after leaving Army Air Corp the 1st time, Francis Emerald married Katherlyn Mildred Fisher on Jan. 13, 1946 in Harrah, OK. To this union 3 children were born John Edwards (Deceased), Charolette Rebecca and Barbara Ann Nelson. Francis Retired from Tinker A.F.B. after 33 years of civil service. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 1857 and Elks Lodge #417. Music gave special pleasure to Francis he sung with an orchestra, a seven piece band and lastly he sung in a duet combo. Francis spent his last years enjoying sports, Friends & Family and making life long memories with his Granddaughter & Great Granddaughter Crystal Amber, Lacie Emerald Nelson. Francis Emerald Nelson departed to eternal rest Aug. 1, 2016. His memorial will be Friday Aug. 12, 2016 at Demuth Funeral Home 1145 W. Britton Rd., Oklahoma City, OK 73114 at 2 p.m. Please dress in your favorite sports, Military, VFW or Elks attire.
