Maurice E. Fitzharris, age 89, of Holland, passed away Sunday August 7, 2016 at Resthaven Care Center.

Maurice served in the US Navy for 20 years and was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

Maurice was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie in 2002; and his daughter, Daryl Ann Mucha, in 2015.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, as well as his dear grandchildren; great-grandchildren; niece; and nephews.

The family of Maurice, known to many as "Fitz," wish to thank all those who enriched his life in the last few years, including friends made at Appledorn Independent Living; those who assisted him with his everyday living at Appledorn Living Center; and those who comforted and cared for him at his passing, Resthaven Care Center and, most especially, Hospice of Michigan.

Private family services are scheduled and burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
