Professional Football Player. For seven seasons (1948 to 1954), he played at the defensive end and offensive end positions in the National Football League with the Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears. Born Lawrence Raymond Brink, he attended Foley High School in Minnesota, where he participated in football and basketball. Following graduation, he was stationed in the European Theater with the United States Air Force during World War II. Upon his return home, he enrolled at Northern Illinois University, where he played football on the collegiate level. During his years with the Huskies, he achieved First Team All-Interstate Athletic Collegiate Conference status. Selected by Los Angeles during the 17th round of the 1948 NFL Draft, he totaled 82 career regular season games. In 1949, he experienced the first of three championship games (1949 to 1951), including a world championship with the Rams in 1951. Individually, Brink distinguished himself, as he earned Pro-Bowl honors twice (1950 and 1951) and First Team All-Pro status in 1951. After retiring from football, he operated an automobile dealership. He was inducted into the Northern Illinois University Athletics Hall of Fame in 1978.
