Richard graduated from Morgantown High School in 1952. Working at Sterling Faucet for 6 mos., he then joined the U.S. Air Force. Serving for 20 years, he spent 5 of those years in Viet Nam. After retiring, he stayed on in Viet Nam, working for Trans Asia Engineering until late 1975, when he returned to the States, and took a job with Derby Oil Company in Oklahoma. Richard was married twice - 1st to Sue, and 2nd to Lawanna Anthony in 1994 (divorced in 2004). He donated his body to a medical university in Oklahoma.
