Curtis G. Schauer age 65 died Monday August 8, 2016 at his home on Weinbrenner Rd. rural Fennimore, WI. He was formerly of Ashley and Wishek, ND. Curtis was born August 31, 1950 in Aberdeen, SD the son of Milton G. and Marilyn (Schroeder) Schauer. He grew up on a farm first near Long Lake, SD and later moved to a farm near Ashley, ND. He graduated from Ashley High School and went on to State School of Science at Wahpeton, ND getting a degree in plumbing. Curtis Served in the US Army from February 1971 to June of 1973 with a year of service in Vietnam. Curtis was united in marriage with Nora Aipperspach on September 1, 1974. Curtis and Nora farmed in the Wishek, ND area until 1993 when they bought a small farm around the Fennimore, WI area. Curtis enjoyed his retired life fishing, watching sports-mostly the Vikings-and spending time with his 11 grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife Nora, five children; Paul Schauer of Lancaster, WI, James (Ruby) Schauer of Mt. Hope, WI, Surae (Matt) Cole of Fennimore, WI, Karsta (Justin) Klein of Boscobel, WI and Marissa (Justin) Tatu of Fennimore, WI, 11 grandchildren, his father Milton G. (June) Schauer of Ashley, ND, five brothers; Gary (Linda) Schauer, Russell (Lucy) Schauer, Dale (Linda) Schauer, Duane (Darcy) Schauer, David Schauer and three sisters: Lois (Jeff) Sheldon, Linda (Winston) Enyart, Mary (Randy) Palmer.

Curtis was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Schauer.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday Aug. 12, 2016 at the Bethany Alliance Church in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 4-8:00 P.M. on Thursday Aug. 11, 2016 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the church on Friday morning.
