Deborah Ann (Regan) Bruton, 66 year old Woodward resident, died Sunday, August 7, 2016 in Oklahoma City.

She was born on June 9, 1950 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Elmer Lee and Lena Mae (Sweet) Regan.

She attended Woodward schools and graduated from Woodward High School in 1968. Debbie attended Panhandle State University from 1968 until 1970. She later received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1989.

She was united in marriage to Leroy Bruton on June 17, 1970 at the Faith United Methodist Church in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Norfolk, Virginia. After Leroy's time in the service, they moved to Knowles, Oklahoma. The family moved to rural Woodward in 1980, and she has lived in Woodward since that time.

Debbie taught school for the Woodward Public Schools for 20 years, retiring in 2011. She continued volunteering her time at the school and also volunteered her time for the GED program in Woodward.

Debbie enjoyed hiking and fishing in Colorado. She also enjoyed bicycling and was an avid OSU fan. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She tried to go to every rodeo they were involved in.

Debbie is survived by one son Phillip Bruton and wife Deni of Turpin; one daughter Kerry Price and husband Dustin of Guthrie; parents, Elmer and Lena Mae Regan of Woodward; one brother Greg Regan and wife Anita of Woodward; one sister Pam Martin and husband Bruce of Anadarko; five grandchildren Dawson Price, Regan Price, Sydney Price, Dalton Bruton, and Paxton Bruton; a special niece Kris McVicker and husband John and their children Andrew and Julia; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, her teacher family caring friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Bruton on May 19, 1997.

A Memorial service to celebrate Debbie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in the First United Methodist Church.

A private family burial will be held prior to the memorial service.
