OGDEN, Utah – Glenna Jo Harris, a courageous strong beautiful daughter of our Heavenly Father, was called home to start her next journey on the morning of April 18, 2016. Her earthly journey began June 11, 1942, in Soda Springs, Idaho, born to George and Fern Albiston. During her childhood, Glenna Jo moved to various towns in Idaho and Montana. Glenna Jo attended high school in Kalispell and Darby, where she graduated as valedictorian.

Her journey after high school led her to Helena, where she worked for the telephone company, Ma Bell. She loved this job and talked about it often. In 1961, she was set up on a blind date with a handsome man named Otis Harris who showed up on a purple Harley; she hopped on and never looked back. Glenna Jo and Otis were married Nov. 15, 1962, in Hamilton. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 16, 1968. For 53 years they journeyed to different areas including Florence, where they built a home and raised their family and ran their business, Harris Excavation, for 26 years.

In 1994, their journey took them to Moscow, Idaho, where she worked side by side with Otis at Henkles and McCoy as a secretary. In 2002, they moved to Ogden, Utah, where Glenna Jo worked as the office manager of Lucas Lumber and was a full-time mom and grandma.

Throughout her earthly journey she enjoyed drawing, singing with her beautiful voice, crossword puzzles, camping, her flower garden, roller skating, bowling, floating the Bitterroot River and going for rides. Glenna Jo took much pride in the fact that she was part of the two- member Nancy Drew Secret Sleuth Club “Missing Twinkies.” Above all else, she loved spending time with Otis and taking her grandkids for birthday dinners, teaching them to tie their shoes, reading to and serving them.
