Joshua Cody Stevens was born on December 15, 1983 in Brownwood, Texas. He graduated from Blanket High School in 2002. He spent many years working in the oil field but always made his way back to Brown County where his heart was truly home. He was a joy to all around him and deeply loved by many. He enjoyed making people laugh and his heart was even bigger than his smile. Children were drawn to his affectionate personality and he loved them as if they were his own. He loved hunting, fishing, helping others and telling grand stories. He is survived by his parents, Gwen Gaines of Blanket, TX and Gil Stevens of Democrat, TX; sisters, Kindra Gaines of Blanket, TX and Amanda Stevens of Fort Worth, TX; grandparents, Mac and Katy Stevens of Brownwood, TX and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Maxine Carter of Blanket, TX; aunt Pamela Boyd of Brownwood, TX and uncle Nicky Gaines of Blanket, TX.
