Pueblo Chieftain Tues Aug 09 2016

Lester A. Parker. On Aug. 4, 2016, Lester was called home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 11, 1951, in Pueblo, Colo. Les was a proud Native American who lived a life of faith, strength, love and dedication to his family. As a young man, he was one of the lucky ones to find his soulmate and partner in life, Elizabeth (Betty). With Betty by his side, he found lifelong success when he started his own business; Parker Excavating Inc. He took great pride in his work and ability to contribute, but most of all in the friendships and relationships he made along the way. He was admired for his strength, his leadership and his willingness to help in whatever way he could. At the heart of his success with family and in business was a deep faith and conviction in God. He was known to contribute in any way he could to many churches and the community. His faith carried him through life and gave him strength through hard times, and thankfulness through the good. He leaves a legacy of faith, family, strength and love that will never be forgotten. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty of 46 years; his children, Greg and Stacie Jo, and Stacy Renee; and his grandchildren, Clayton, Keshon, Paige, Kialy, Blake, Stone, and Pinky; and friends and family too numerous to count. Viewing, 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, Imperial Funeral Home; Celebration of Life, 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at Pueblo Christian Center.
