Nellie Cecelia (Fahey) Firlie, 92, of Cumberland, died Thursday, Jan 16, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital,
Cumberland. Born April 28, 1904, in Elk Garden, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John J and Margaret Ellen (Carney) Fahey. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent J. Firlie and eight brothers and sisters. Mrs Firth was a homemaker, and she was a former nurse. She was a graduate of Elk Garden High School and a 1925 graduate I of Allegany Hospital School of Nursing, She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the church Sodality; the local Senior Citizens organizations and the Sacred Heart Auxiliary. She also was an avid bridge player. Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen F Seroskie and husband Ed, Falls Church, Va., and Rosemary T Firlie, Cumberland; three grandchildren, Lisa S. Wagley and husband Gary, Chantilly, Va, Edward A. “Ned” Seroskie Jr. and Peter V Seroskie. both of Falls Church; and two great-grandchildren, James E Wagley and Lauren E Wagley. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake will in conducted on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Patrick’s Catholic Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Frank J. Brauer as celebrant. Interment will be in St Patrick's Cemetery.
